But it's a 3600. If you get it with the triple disk, you can lockup if it's too tight up top.
Designed for nitrous use. Very tight around town. So, it's another option if you need an FTI 3600.
I could not find that info and FTI would never say exact numbers for the soft hit converters. My research led me to believe the hard hit is the yank ss competition and the soft hit is the yank pt competition. The thing that I disagree with is the name. Calling it a soft hit makes me not want it, I'd rather say I have a hard hit FTI converter lol. You Need to be drinking tea with your pinky out while saying "it's a thoft hit".
The reason i don't like to go by STR to describe a converter is because there so much more to consider when choosing the right converter. I'd just rather take the time to get hands on with each setup and get as much info as possible and then use that info in conjunction with what the customer wants to choose the right converter.

Do you want a more violent strike against the tire under WOT?
Are you ok with a looser feeling converter under light pedal?
If yes to both then the 6082 is the ticket.
If you are concerned more about light pedal daily type drive-ability then the 0086 is the way to go. The 0086 offers driveability similar to our 3200 0082 converters but with a higher stall for better WOT perf. on the track.

I just dont want it to feel sluggish and regret not goimg with the more violent hit. Some people have described their 086 equipped converters as a bit sluggish off the line but better for rolling starts.
Extension will depend on when your shifting, power, gear etc. a typical 400hp FBO F-body shifting around mid 6000s will have a 13-1500 shift extension with the 0086.

The sluggish off the line feel is expected because thats is that tighter down low, better drive-ability feel taking effect.

the good news is we give a 1 year 1 free restall with all of our billet converters for just this reason.
How a converter feels to someone is subject to perspective, so something too tight for one person, may be something too loose for someone else. That's when it goes back to getting info about the car and understanding what the driver wants and choosing the right converter from there.

If I'm spinning to 7500, what would the shift extension be if I'm trying for 600rwhp/520rwtq to the wheel power output? I may need to send it back to be restalled. But I do like how tight it is for driving though. Especially with a very loud exhaust.
Also, sorry to derail this a bit, just was thinking out loud...
