Yeah, sucked trying to get the pan off. Was going to go ahead and pull it but my yard is still soaked and more rain and snow coming in over next few days. Thankfully I have a Jeep for standby. I figure the 4l80e would be allot better and read you only lose maybe 4hp to the wheels overall but the reliability is night and day.

Just wanna say thanks to everyone and there will be more photos coming to maybe show what the culprit actually was.

Kfx it was rebuilt with all hard parts. Shift kit ect. It would chirp tires hard in second 3/4 throttle or better. But I never drive it hard. Just cruise and take trips mostly. And when it went out it was like just throwing it in neutral running 35-40. We were in a neighborhood in Knoxville so wasn't ragging on it. Heck I haven't hardly gotten in it but once in past few months. Sad thing is it never slipped or anything. And converter never gave me a sign it was on the fritz either. I know the pump is still working so I'm assuming the internals if converter let go. But with that said trans is toast .not going to even try a rebuild after the size of metal chunks I've found. Going to look for an 80 over the next few weeks with low miles and if that doesn't work I'm going to buy a crate tranny.

That is actually why I made the post. One I figured someone may have this info or had it happen which apparently it never has anywhere in the world lol or no one has mentioned it online. And second if anyone ever has this issue it's now out there for the public. Just sure wish it could have been a cheaper fix. Or at least still under warranty haha

Exactly, this site is/was instrumental in helping me with every issue I ran into. My trans with 117k feels awesome but we all know that means nothing. Also, I am smart enough to know I would be paying for both parts and labor if or when something happens lol.
