What modifications were done to the transmission when it was rebuilt?
letting go all of a sudden doesnt sound like clutches. wouldnt be a solonoid, you will manually have reverse and first. probably the input drum cracked and then the splines stripped in the drum. Did it originally shift hard enough to chirp the tires on the 1-2 shift at full throttle?

That is actually why I made the post. One I figured someone may have this info or had it happen which apparently it never has anywhere in the world lol or no one has mentioned it online. And second if anyone ever has this issue it's now out there for the public. Just sure wish it could have been a cheaper fix. Or at least still under warranty haha
Exactly, this site is/was instrumental in helping me with every issue I ran into. My trans with 117k feels awesome but we all know that means nothing. Also, I am smart enough to know I would be paying for both parts and labor if or when something happens lol.
