Default Trans cooler

Hey Guys I would like everyones opinion on what transmission cooler to purchase. It will be attempting to cool a 4l60e that was freshened up by me with quite a few Sonnax upgrades. Yank pas3400 and 3.42 rear
The trans will be in a 1971 Camaro powered by a LS 6.0l , 243 heads ported and milled by TEA. 230/232 .600 112 +2 cam and long tubes. I have a Cold Case aluminum radiator but I prefer not to use the radiator to cool the trans fluid. SO... I am thinking about using a Derale 13960 25 Row Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit -6AN Inlet Size. Will this cooler be enough to keep the fluid temps below 200*ish in Florida heat? Link to Derale 13960
What coolers are Ya'll using?

I'm using the same type of cooler for my 4L60E that the donor truck (1999 GMC 5.3 liter Sierra) used. I'm running a 12 inch, 80 watt blower fan affixed on top of it in my El Camino where the Sierra had no direct fan air on it at all. The Sierra cooler was out in front of the AC condenser that got only marginal benefit from the truck fan perhaps six inches behind it and through the condenser and radiator.

All in all, I'm happy with my arrangement here and the cooler is bolted to the passenger side inner fender. I'm using the same 40 amp radiator temperature fan relay to kick on the trans cooler fan that drives the radiator electric fans.

Rick

I use the very same cooler on my car. It is stalled 3400 and cooler is placed under the ttops of the fbody. The highest I have seen in stop and go traffic in 95 degree heat with high humidity was 201 degrees for a short time.

I'm from Iowa and I DO drive my car when it's 20 degrees out (provided there's no snow or salt) so I route mine through the rad.

Even through the rad, my trans rarely sees over 170 EDIT: 160 T stat with fans turned on at the right temp with the tune

I don't run through the radiator but in cooler temps ( below 40degrees) I do need to drive around in 3rd to get some heat into it.

Did you do the steel fab work to mount those two stacked plate coolers?

I really love the design! Using factory bumper mounting locations and I assume the car uses DSUZ fasteners to mount the bumper cover???

Anyway, AMAZING!
