Default 4L60e 5.3 swap

I have a 2003 gmc envoy 4.2 the Tran is out I bought another 4L60e to put in it and found out later it was from a 2002 k1500 5.3 so I swapped the bell housing and tail and put it in now I’ve got nothing it wont go into any gear is this not a possible swap or what am I missing?

It should have worked with the swapped bell housing. The truck tail housing should have matched. No need to change tht over. I know the 4.2 has starter in a diff location so u do need a ls style bell. Same trans internals tho.

U said from a k1500 truck? Sure tht isnt a 4x4 trans?

it's not working because you broke the pump during install...or when you bought your $50 junkyard/craigslist trans...it was already broken

Pull a cooler line and start the truck...if it pumps fluid...then the junkyard/craigslist trans is junk
If it doesn't pump fluid...you don't know how to install a transmission and broke the pump. congrats
