Default TH350C converter

Does any of our vendors make a TH350C converter. I’m going to take a chance and rebuild the transmission for my 80 TA that I’m LS swapping but I’d like to run a 32-3600 converter when it’s all done. I’ve installed several Yank converters for people and loved how the 3600s drove in the 4l60.

A converter is not going to feel the same in a different transmission.

Also, if you don't want lock up, you can convert the 350c to non lock up using an input shaft/drum, and pump from a regular th350. The non lock up converters are considerably less costly. It's been a while since I've looked at the prices though. But I'm sure you've already noticed availability is short since you're asking where to find one.

I’d prefer to keep the lock up if possible. I was going to run a stand alone controller on it. The car will be 99 percent weekend street car. I just don’t want something that basically free revs until it hits the stall speed. I figured a heads cam ls1, 3600, and 323s will run decent with fairly good driveabliy if I could find a quality converter with lock up. Hughes makes a th350c just never ran anything other than Yank.

What do you mean free revs until it hits the stall speed?

I don’t want a really loose 3600. I’ve seen some converters that slip like hell until they get close to stall speed. The Yank 3600s drove almost stock under normal driving until going up hill.

Circle D, BTE, Coan, Many of them can make you what you need and a well built efficient converter will drive nice on the street and still have stall at the correct speed.
Have one built for you rather than buy one off the shelf, Or at least call for a recommendation.

Are you sure @LLLosingit ??
This is a pretty unique conveter...th350c means a th350 with provision for a lockup torque converter. Not terribly common.
Last I knew (things might have changed) Circle D did not make th350c converters...are you sure they do?

They may not have one on the shelf but I don't know why they can't make one for him after all many aftermarket converters are built from OEM cores.

We've done quite a few of these, nothing to them converter wise really. I can do any custom stall setup just like the rest of the 9.5" converters we have.

Welllll....looks like I'm going to finally have a use for the goofy th350c cores I have on the shelf.
I'll find a hot rod guy that wan't to keep it simple but could use a couple mpg for his show car.

I’m not really concerned with mpg as Much as am melting it down with a loose converter and airplane gears cruising at 55 lol

O man! you kept some of those lock-up 350s?

Wow, I think those were some of the very first things I scrapped a very long time ago.
I never thought anyone would want one...

I mean you do still have them... which means no one has asked for one yet.

Typically the guys that want a th350c are just better suited with a different unit lol
but you're prettymuch right...for every 20 th400/4l80/glide guys I get...I get one th350 guy...and if I get 20 th350 guys probably only one of them would even know a th350c ever even existed
So it certainly isn't a hot item haha
