Default 4l80e noise

My newly refreshed 4l80e has a speed based ticking as soon as i click it into 3rd gear. No sounds in 1st and 2nd but 3rd and 4th are Making the sound. The faster I go the faster the ticking gets. I've checked the converter bolts but not sure what else to look for

Sounds like the noise may be related to vehicle speed...

I would start out looking at the Drive-Shaft, Universal-Joints, Rear-Differential, Brakes, Wheel-Bearings, all first before looking at the Transmission.

I'm certain it's from the transmission. Go from 3rd to 2nd and the sound instantly stops. The sound is more like a relay clicking extremely fast

Time to drain and inspect the ATF for Metal debris then.

I am having a hard time deciphering what the debris looks like in the images that you posted.

If you see any Brass/ Bronze/ Copper looking debris...
It is time to take the Transmission out.

Note: If the ATF cooler or Radiator with built in ATF cooler... were never flushed out or replaced...
This could be what you are looking at in the ATF.

Also; after a Transmission failure, the Torque-Converter must be cut-open and cleaned... or just replaced.
...as reusing a Torque-Converter will contaminate the ATF also... and damage the Transmission.

There was a very small amount of Copper looking material in that bottom pic. Everything was replaced when I put the transmission back in also

In my shop, this scenario = remove and disassemble transmission...

Anyone else want to share their professional opinion?

Found the source of material. The shop replaced the pump due to it spinning the bushing in the last one. What would cause it to be wiping out the bushing again?

You have both alignment dowels in the block?
Has the motor ever had the mains re-cut?
If it is wearing out one side of the bearing only, it is likely not running on center.
If it wipes the whole thing out, runout on the snout of the converter could be an issue

Both dowels are in place. It's a untouched 6.0 so shouldn't be a issue there. It doesn't look like it's wearing evenly across the bearing. Builder is going back through it but I'd like to make sure I have everything in check on my part of the install

I have seen the Main-Bearings (Engine) being worn enough to cause Pump bushing wear at the bottom face of the bushing.

Everything was great prior to the bushing spinning in the last pump. I think it happened then because I made a pass then went to the pits and put it on the transbrake again. I'll take a indicator home today and check runout on the flexplate. I might bolt the converter up and check runout on the snout if possible
