You ask what pin it is on at the TCM? If that is not the question, then what is your question? Are you asking if Pin A should be grounded when the 1-2 shift solenoid is energized?
Wasn't trying to be rude.
I know it is Pin A, but trying to decipher if the shift solenoid is bad before pulling tranny. On pin A when unenergized, should I have anything to ground as far as ohms or open? I know if you ohm the sollenoid it should be about 22 ohms. If it is energized I assume I would have a voltage there.
The shift solenoid should have voltage to it with the ignition switch in the on position. The TCM will ground Pin A when it wants to turn the solenoid on. Pin A when unenergized and ignition switch in the on position should read battery volage. With key on ground pin A and you should hear the solenoid click.
Hi there,
I have a 4l70e (15 pin) and i have the same PRNDL selector as above with the single long plug. My ls swap harness has a single 2 wire small plug, possibly like one of the plugs in the picture above this one. What's my options of getting the PRNDL working on my set up? Pics attached!!
So I’ve researched everywhere. I’m getting conflicting results. I’ve got a 13 pin 2004 4l60e transmission hooked to a 2002 6.0 with DBC red/blue pcm. I keep throwing a P0785 and P0740. I’ve ohmed harness from pcm to trans good. From trans connection to solenoids good. Even replaced the shift solenoids and still not clearing. I’m to the point that my TSP (top speed performance) harness is pinned wrong for my setup. When I try to find the correct pin for pin diagram I can’t. Then I’ve asked ChatGPT and google AI with conflicting results. I’d rather get it from a human. lol. I’m not positive if this is the correct way to go about this in this forum. Please take it easy on me if I’m going about this wrong. This is a 58 Chevrolet Apache 3100 with 2002 6.0 and 2004 I think 4l60e 13 pin.

Step 1) Make sure pin "E" at the case connector will light up a headlamp bulb. I rigged up a an old pass through connector
to a headlamp with an alligator clip to ground somewhere.
Here is a copy of TransGo's 4L60E General reference and a P0740/785 diagnosis.
Hope this helps.

so I’ve tested pin E with 11.8 volts with key on. as far as testing continuity from trans harness to pcm I’m not positive what pins go to what pins between trans female connector to pcm red/blue connector

Here is the problem of just testing voltage.
1 strand of wire will show voltage but will not allow 5 amps to flow.
Pin "E" supplies power to the 1-2, 2-3, 3-2, TCC on/off & TCC PWM solenoids.
It's usually on a 10 A fuse.
So a headlamp loads the wire sufficiently enough to show it can do it's job.

I have this plug on my 4l70e but my harness has the smaller plug for the park neutral reverse! I can get a tail to suit my single plug for the 4l70e but my question is, are the pin out on the smaller plug used on the newer bigger single plug? Can I splice the new plug tail into my harness and use the wires off the smaller plug, or do I just ignore the smaller plug all together and run the new plug extension? Pic of my plug attached!
