Default 4l60 e help

Hey guys I'm wondering if anybody could kindly give me some information it would be greatly appreciated I have 2009 Sierra 4 wheel drive 4.8 WITH 4L60 E blown 3..4 I have a brand new 2007 4L60E older style external neutral safety switch etc .. I know the 09 they have eliminated 2 solenoids also neutral safety is internal plug is also different.. Not quite sure if there's anything else. What do I gotta do to make this transmission work in this truck? can I use the valvebody out of the 09 and harness.

The 2007 & 2008 should be interchangeable, if they both have an external mounted NSS switch and the brown/black case connector. The internal mode switch was a 2009 model year change and has a blue case connector. If the 2008 does not have the external NSS, I would just rebuild it myself or get it rebuilt.

Is the truck a 2008 or 2009 as stated in another thread?

Thank you for starting a thread of your own. I'm sure you will get more help this way.

Unfortunately nothing prior to 2009 is compatible with 2009 and newer Models.

The 2007 trans should work if using a 2007 engine and trans harness along with the 2007 engine and trans computers. I haven't done any swaps so I can't say if this will be compatible with the rest of your truck. Seems to me it would be easier to get the correct year transmission. Another possibility would be to take the compatible parts out of the 2007 transmission and put them in the 2009 case.

The difference is the neutral safety switch being inside the case on the 09+ models
3-2 solenoid also eliminated
The amount of effort it would be to swap computers, engines, and transmissions, plus tuning credits, etc
Makes it worthwhile to just fix the transmission you have, or find a good used unit if being cheap is the top priority.
