Correct!

Making them difficult to find in good condition.
I use them because they Flow a greater Volume of Oil (especially at High RPM) than a 10 or 13-Vane Rotor.
They work Best at higher Line-Pressures.
GM went from a 7-Vane Rotor to a 10 vane Rotor for better Line-Pressure Consistency (sacrificing Volume).
However at higher Line-Pressures, this "less frequent pulse" from the rotor is far less observed, just like anything where the velocity is increased.
So we get greater Volume and have greater Line Pressure (due to our greater Boost Valve Sizes and Firmer Springs)...
Win Win!!!

The Manual is good but that not what this thread is about but rather the little tricks , tips mods techs have come up with that are not in any book at least as far as I know..
And the Manual has some issues, Such as it will tell you the Overun clutch is on and 1-2 in d3 2 or 1, It is not , Its only on in D3 3rd gear not in 1-2 manually or automatically.

Just a opinion. When I block the 4th accum I block from channel side not accum side, While I agree its easier from accum side I find that its also less secure and the hole is even at times larger than the check ball and can leak. Plud the fact the presure coming from the 4TH clutch side can be much higher than the accumside of the hole, I feel I get a much more secure seal from the channel side. Also a note never block it then leave the accum piston in as you will also be blocking lube orifice tot he rear planet .
Just a thought

I do the same when I do it with a check ball
I'd recommend for most guys that they do this with a setscrew.
Makes it easily removable should they ever desire. And a setscrew with some red loctite will seal 100% from either side.
