Question Torque converter vibrations?

Is it normal for a torque converter to make a vibration noise? My 4L80 would make a vibration noise when I would take off from a stop. It would go away after a few seconds. Now, my 6L80 vibrates with it in gear, but not moving. Once I take my foot off the brake, the vibration goes away. Both transmission had/have a Circle-D converter. The 4L80 had a 3k stall. The 6L80 has a 3600-4k stall. I'm assuming it's the converter, because I can't think of anything else in a transmission that spins enough to make that noise. The stock 4L60 was smooth and quiet, but it had a stock converter. Both the 4L and 6L 80 were rebuilt with aftermarket parts and converters. Am I the only one this happens to, or is it more common with aftermarket converters?

I doubt it's a converter vibrating. And also a aftermarket converter is just as smooth as the stock converter.

Both the 4l80e and 6l80e are bigger than a 4l60e. Possibly the case is hitting the tunnel or something like that.

I do not think its vibrating as letting off brake would have no effect. Now what is possible is a bit fo converter clutch drag , This is an issue that I address in my builds as its a known issue with 80e units,

Aftermarket Torque-Converters that either have a Billet Back-Half for an aftermarket Lock-Up Disc...
Or Torque-Converters that have a Lock-Up Triple/ Multi-Disc solution...

Are very often noisy or make vibratory noises; it is normal.

However Stock type Torque Converters should not make those types of noises.
A draging Lock-Up Clutch can be caused when there is not enough Fluid flow or pressure to Hold the Clutch Off.

Would it be possible to increase the line pressure in the tune? I haven’t tuned it yet. It just has a stock tune for now.

I'm having trouble finding the TCC "line" pressure. My TCM doesn't have the "desired" pressure table. It just has the Apply Ramp, Apply Ramp 4WD Lo, Max Pressure, Regulator Gain, and Regulator Offset. Unless it's hiding somewhere else in the tune file. I'm looking under the Torque Converter, General tab. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I'll try to upload my TCM tune file. Maybe someone can see what I'm looking at and point me in the right direction.

No place to only raise TCC line presure, You must raise overall line presure or at least low throttle line presure .

I have gone through the tune and the raised pressure and lowered (made quicker) the shift timing everywhere. I am not really getting much TCC drag in the lower gears anymore. It is there in 1st gear with no throttle, and sitting still, but not nearly as noticeable as before. It is, however, pretty noticeable in 6th gear, locked up, and cruising down the highway. At least, it is commanded to be locked up in 6th gear at highway speeds. I am not getting any TCC drag in gears 1-5 with any throttle over 2%. It is only doing it in 6th, and in gear at a stop.

I talked to the transmission builder and Circle-D. Neither of them have heard of this issue with the 6L80. Circle-D obviously knows about this issue in a 4L80, but they said the 6L80 is different. They suggested that there might be a torn seal or a bad solenoid somewhere.
