Default 4L80E - Better shifting rigging to use instead of the factory 4L60 stuff...???

I had my Level 4 - 4L80E installed into my 1998 Trans Am a few years ago and its been perfect, but the shifting OF THE SHIFTER HANDLE isn't solid like factory going from P to D to N to 1-2....etc..... It shifts (moves forward and rearward) into each postion (detent) but its not lined up on the shift indicator to line up perfectly with each detent for each letter/number.

Any better cables/rigging set up that installs in place of the 4l60E factory rigging?

Thanks.

Adjust the cable down at the trans. Mine is perfect = like stock. I don't remember if I used the 4L60 shift arm or the 4L80./

There’s a thread in here on where clinebarger modified a 4L60E lever to work with the 4L80E based on how they are clocked differently.

Here it is:

Here are a couple of pics of mine. The shift lever that I used is approx 1 7/8" between the trans shaft center and the center of the attachment ball for the linkage. The linkage brackets need to have the holes elongated to bolt them to the trans.

Bracket bolted to 4L80 pan rail

Shift bracket is 1 7/8" between shaft hole and ball attachment. Centers
