4l60e rough 1-2 shift

Default 4l60e rough 1-2 shift

just recently purchased a 2011 colorado and its been shifting rough into 2nd gear, rough enough that the tires would chirp under medium-heavy throttle.

I checked the fluid, it looks clean but it seems to be vastly overfilled, it does have a historic fault for a P0717(Input/Turbine Speed Sensor circuit No signal). after some driving it did pull up a P0700 Mil light.
I'm going to guess that nothing could really be considered until I get the transmission codes looked at

Do you have a scan tool? Can you clear the codes?

Most transmissions are very sensitive to fluid level. I would start by getting the fluid to the proper level and scan the codes. You could be in limp mode, which would cause the trans to run at max line pressure. This would result in the harsh shifts.

I can scan ECU codes but not transmission codes.

Repair the codes 1st. The TCM will up the line pressure a lot of times if it thinks there is a problem that may cause it to slip.
Start with the P0717 code. Once that is taken care of the other code should go away.

I was big a dummy and cleared the code for some reason I honestly do not know why its just a habit I guess as code are often false flags in my experience, that was about 110 miles, I'm at about 305 miles now and the transmission is basically toast. I got off the highway and basically every gear slips, doing about 3-4k rpm just to do like 20mph, It also does not shift into reverse

Sounds like trans time, Likely it started as a TCC issue with converter,

At first I was going to say that you get to be one of the few Threads on here that have an Internal Mode Switch Style Transmission...
And may have an Input Speed Sensor Ground Circuit issue in the TCM.

Many of the Earlier Transmissions with the Pressure Manifold Switch Design, had bad TCMs...
Far less of the Newer Transmissions have had that issue and were something else.

Buring-up the Transmission is one thing...
But even burning up the Reverse-Input Clutch and Low-Reverse Clutch for the Transmission to go into Reverse...

Nah no need to go to a Heavier Duty Transmission.

I'd prefer to go down to a Lighter Duty (THM200-4R) Transmission and Beef it up!

The shop wants to replace the entire transmission, they told me the only damages are (internal failure) they couldn't go into depth, they probably tried to drive it and never actually inspected the transmission. They want 2950, or around 3100 after taxes.
I can't believe that the dealership claims the transmission had 0 issues when they bought it and before I received it, Something like the 2nd gear shifting super hard would happen overnight, sitting on a car trailer
