Default 4L60E, can it be unpluged to perfrom a wire test?

I mean without moving the transmission?

Talking about the case connector on top.

The purpose is to check the voltage coming from PCM to the harness.

If you are just wanting to check voltage to Pin E sure, Though you would get a better loaded test with harness plugged in and tapped into pin e wire and PCM does self test with solenoids loading circuit,

Yes, it can be unplugged with trans still in the vehicle.

Just make sure when you go to plug it back in you dont push the trans harness connector in the transmission. You will have a mess on your hands and you will be pulling the pan to reinstall it.

Sonnax makes a bracket that stops that from happening. I install it on all of my personal transmissions.

Yup, I do the same. They make one for the 4L80E too.
