Default Trans and rear end for cam only nitrous car

Hi. I have a 2001 LS1 Camaro, cam only (Tick SNS 3) with a Nitrous outlet stinger plate/ Vic jr. Will run up to a 250 shot on C12. 1/4 mile track car only. I currently have a stock 4L60E with a TCI 4000 stall and a stock 10 bolt rear and 11.5 Hoosier QTP. The expectation is that this rear/ trans will live a short but exciting life. Not sure on the weight or times yet as a cage is being built at the moment. All "free" weight reduction has been done, and some more.

What is the general consensus on th400 vs powerglide for this setup? Any recommended transmissions? (With trans brake)

Also what type of stall? (Up to 250 shot) Also any thoughts on rear ends? E.g Strange S60 vs Moser 9.

I'd like to prepare for a little more power in future if I went for a bit bigger + built motor.

Thanks everyone,

Without knowing the weight it's a little tough to pick the right trans for ya
Let's just ballpark it's somewhere in the 3200lb range after all the weight you can get off without buying a bunch of fiberglass body panels and cutting up the whole car
And stock LS1 with cam and a 250 will be somewhere in the 600hp is ballpark maybe a tad more

Th400 and a 9" will be the sortof "go to" combo
You could easily make a glide work with the proper rear gear and if you'd be willing to spin the motor high enough.

I see your country of origin is NZ so if that's accurate I can't recommend a trans or rear end company for you

If you were in the states I wouldn't hesitate to say we can do the th400 or glide for ya

The Strange S60 will bolt right in and can be narrowed 3" on each side free of charge when purchased. But if need to add a wishbone to it, you run into having to weld steel to cast iron. You will not have that with an 9in. As for the trans I prefer a powerglide.

Thanks for the info. I am based in New Zealand but I freight everything down here via a freight forwarder in the US. Can get the weight of the car once the cage is in and all back together. Regarding RPM, I have upgraded valvetrain and lifters and rev to 7k.
