Default 4l60e to 4l70e conversion

Hello all. I have a 5.3l 07 tahoe 4×4 with the 4l60e which has the 15 pin connector and has lost 3rd gear. I have found a low mile (30k miles) 4l70e from a totaled tbss awd. Would the l70e plug and play with my 07? I plan to rebuild my original in the near future just need to aquire more of the specialty tools beforehand.

All depends on the year of the TBSS unit. 07-08 should be the same 15 pin case connecter. 09 will have 17 pins and will not work on an 07 set up. Internals all changed for 2009....

It is coming out of an 06 tbss. So if it has the 15 pin connector it is plausible?

2006 should have a grey/green 13 pin connector. If you're original transmission has a white/black connector with 15 pins, it has an ISS sensor. The 2006 unit doesn't have an ISS sensor. You will need to delete any code reporting for the ISS sensor.
@vorteciroc (RIP) did a huge thread on connectors.

The connector is black/tan with 15pins and he says it's an 06. Thoughts?

06 was a transition year without being able to see inside you cannot tell if it has an ISS sensor. Pan gaskets are cheap if it has a ISS connector inside up by the rooster comb it would be a direct swap. If it does not have an ISS, you can still delete code reporting for the ISS with HPTuners.

Well I thank you for all the help before. It was a direct swap from the 06 tbss trans into the 07 tahoe and shifts normal through all 4 gears until it triggers a p0742 code then shifts hard from the high line pressure the code triggers. He said he didn't have issues but I'm having trouble believing that. Research told me it was likely tcc solenoid so I was lazy and didn't test resistance or functionality but just replaced and same code comes back. More research led me to the pwm solenoid and replaced it as well with no change so I replaced the torque converter itself. Fluid was clean before converter change but figured I'm replacing anyhow so replaced fluid with filter so now have cherry red clean fluid. Still same code comes back and hard shifting and overheating trans etc. More research led to the tcm itself so put in the unit from the tbss without flash or reprogram just as a test and same code still. I finally tested tcc and it measured 21 ohms and tested by applying sir into snout and apply 12 volts and it stops airflow when energized. Back probed tcc circuit from trans case connecter while watching scan tool and driving and 12 volts is only present when tcc is commanded on. From what I've gathered it doesn't seem like an electronic issue but a hydraulic issue instead. Dopped pan and when tcc solenoid is removed I can reach the tcc apply valve in the pump with a finger and I can cycle it into what feels like spring pressure and it returns so don't think it is stuck/ siezed. The regulator valve immediately beside the pwm solenoid is not siezed either and can move freely which I thought was an issue but from my research is supposed to float back and forth to pulse. Slip speed is low +/- 20rpm when at low speed so the vehicle is stuck in lock up even though it isn't being commanded. If I were to remove the apply valve in the pump does it exhaust through the cooler lines so that I may apply air pressure to verify it can flow and potentially to the same to the cooler. If so which cooler line? Any thoughts or recommendations are much appreciated!!
