4L60 Problem.... Ok, here's the scoop. Transmission does not engage into gear fully under WOT. I pulled the pan, and much to my expectation, the seal aroung the filter snout was missing a piece. Therefore, the tranny was sucking air. Ok, change the filter and fluid. Runs and shifts great.....for a while. Now, the truck acts like it only has 1st and 3rd. It will try to shift into 4th but won't quite engage fully. Kinda hangs up??? Also when shifting from 1st, I have to let off the gas in order for it to engage 2nd or 3rd (which ever it is actually shifting into). Tranny all stock. Anyone??? Later, FCG

If you lost 2nd & 4th only, then the 2-4 band is broke or burnt/glazed. If reverse is gone, along with 2nd & 4th, then the sunshell is broke. If this happened all at once then (2nd & 4th) then you broke the 2-4 band. If it happened slowly, then it is burnt/glazed.

I believe it was the band. That valve issue sounds a little fishy.
