Default TCI3000 or TCI SSF3500

I decided to go with a TCI Converter but not sure which stall speed to get. I'm thinking of going with the TCI SSF3500 but is it to much for the car, would I run into any problems with the SSF3500, like heating problems, etc. Thanks for any info!

My current mods: Hooker LT/ORY, 3.73's, Lid, ASP Pulley, NX 125 Wet Shot!

Upcoming Mod: TCI Converter

Future Mod: Comp Cam

You want a cooler in either case.

The SF3000 is pretty right for my stockish vehicle
and the Dr. Jekyll side of my driving personality.

With a cam & headers you might as well go bigger.
I haven't seen anybody who ended up thinking
their SSF3500 was too small. But, it will rape any
tires you put on there with 3.73s and maybe you
don't need that much STR (2.5:1, even the 2.2:1
of the SF with 3.23s is spin-happy on my F1 street
rubber, will light them up from a roll anywhere in
1st and spin hard into 2nd).

I don't think you need torque multiplication (STR)
as much as powerband management (stall) and
you might want to talk to them about a more
custom deal (like go more for efficiency and
take off a little STR etc.) as you already have
geared down.

The TCI 3500 is the way we went with the 373's. I really thought it would be huge change over stock but it's not. Having a few shifting issues, but nothing a ls1 edit won't fix. You'll love the TCI3500 over the 3000
.

jimmyblue how much do you think you give up in the 1/4 to the 3500 or the 3800, 1-2 tenths? I'm interested in a truely streetable converter and the 3000 sounds like it should fit my bill. My set up will be 3.42's, B1 cam, FTRA, ASP pulley, Nitto's, with a stock exhaust (cut out for the track). I have most of the parts just haven't put them on yet.
