cooler install how to?

cooler install how to? I've been reading these cooler install guides online and they have really
confused me. I would think you block off the old fittings and install to new
cooler or T it in somehow.Can someone explain this to me because I just can't follow what the pictures show?Thanks for any help.

Usually you install the new cooler after the stock, with both barb fittings on the top (this will avoid air to be trapped in the cooler).
I don't think bypassing the stock cooler is a good idea: the trans need a certain operating temperature to work properly.
You also should change (lower) the fan settings: the normal air flow won't be enough to cool the oil. 175F is a good temperature.
Be careful with the lines: there is a certain pressure in the system. I firs used the hose that was in the kit: you can see it "pumping" when you accelerate in P. I went with stiffer hoses (hi temperatire, hi pressure, oil resistant).

I think the top line is the return line, so you leave your botton line connected to the radiator and the run a barb fitting from the top hose to the new cooler and then the other end of your aftermarket cooler to the factory line, just push the fitting down the line and slide the hose over it a clamp it , this way your stock cooler and after market cooler work as one....

If you need another hose (you probably will) just ask for high pressure, high temperature oil resistant hose... to spray the engine with ATF is not nice.
