Sam, you can only brake your 3500 stall to 2000rpm on the stock brakes? Something don't sound right there. I can easily brake mine to 3200rpm with out making it lurch. Did you have your car tuned? If so, I'd talk to the tuner about that. A guy I know had a ATI 10psi and had a mail-tune that was seriously fucked up. When I say fucked up, I mean it had to be for another car. It was whacked out when we loaded up LS1edit to it. He couldn't brake his SY3500 to more than 2000 rpm because the tune was so fucked up.
There is no way a 3500 stall will brake stall to 3500. It usually engages around 2000>2200 or so. If you reach 3500 that means you are putting a lot of load on your tranny internals (Crunching) and your brakes are holding your car.

What didn't you like about the SS3800? I'm thinking about going with a SS4000 when I do S2 H/C this winter. I prefer to keep it more on the streetable side for now.

While I have only a few posts, this is not my original name. I've been on the F-body boards since '95. I'm also an original LS1tech member. ( Join Date: 11-21-2001) Name is NASSty01, which for some reason I can't use anymore and had to create a new one.

I believe you have been misinformed. Ask any guy with a Yank ST3500 where it likes to leave the line and they will tell you 3k. I can get mine to go 3200 before the car wants to surge. Completely stock brakes.

OF course all 'verters are different though. Some like to be flashed and some like to be stalled up.

Edit: Hey you're in Dubai. I just exported a piece of medical equipment there last week.

The post I was referring to did not mention a Yank verter, I have a TCI and 2200 is the most I can stall it, It will flash to 3500 though. I was considering going with a Yank after my Cam install, do all Yanks have that characteristic?

I'm not sure. I haven't kept up on the new converters that have recently come out.

Pick the converter(s) you like and ask about their launch characteristicis specifically.

As always, SEARCH is your friend.
