what good
what good would installing a deep pan and a 160 thermostat do for me? i went back to stock with my stall convertor(coz my 2800 was a waste of money and time)..and am gonna throw in a 3500 stall once i get a shift kit and my torque arm installed....the tranny is stock, except for a B&M tranny cooler.....
From what I hear, it only makes it take longer to heat up, the cooler itself should be sufficient. I just ordered an ST3500 with a B&M Tranny cooler and temp gauge, but i diddnt get a pan
anyone got any ideas of which pan and which thermostat i should go with? ive blown 2 4l60's already and im tryin to make this one last longer than the other ones lasted me

TCI makes a good pan. You want one with cooling fins. Just adding an extra quart of fluid doesn't do that much; you want to increase heat transfer capability. I have the Dearle (less money) which has cooling tubes.
alright, thanx for the help guys.....gotta nother question....how hard would it be to install a 160 thermostat myself? a couple of my friends have done it and said it wasnt all that hard, and barely took them that much time.....i know im probably gonna have to get the shift kit installed professionally or by some1 who knows what their doing....and could i install the deep pan by myself if i had jack stands or a lift???
160* t-stat= 30 minutes if you TAKE your TIME! ( i have the slp expensive rip-off 160* t-stat w/ fan switch) easy as hell, just a little bit of coolant mess. get a drain pan and you are good. you need a fan switch or a way to turn on your fans too or it is worthless, . i like my **** to stay COOL. i HATE knock and the trans doesn't like heat either.
shift kit= a bitch but do-able. don't even attempt if you don't have ballz. i did mine with the trans out of the car (a WHOLE lot easier)
good luck. if you don't do a shift kit you can always increace line pressure with the computer, though im not sure it will be enough.
