I'm not that educated on transmissions but I"m trying to learn. I have been told that the 4L60E and a 700R4 are mechanically the same so the parts are interchangable. I don't have the luxury of electronics in my 68 so I'm stuck with the 700R4 and I keep snapping them. How are you guys keeping them together in a 10 sec pass and spraying 200 hp... I wasn't near that and I've split a planetary and then ballooned the shell (?)..

ANYONE that is having luck with thier A4 please post what you had done to it. There is a new 5 gear planetary out, is anyone using it??

Get a dif tranny

 

the 4l65e has a heavy duty input drum and 5 pinion planets and will interchange with a 700

Get a TH400, that should handle a 200 shot

 

He can't do electronic, but if you still want overdrive get a non electronic 4L80

th400's are the answer but the GV overdrive unit is not practicle due to the price.
