Default Problems installing transmission cooler

I have the Hayden 28,000 trans cooler for my 99 TA and have almost got it sorted out except that I can't get the little plastic zip tie pieces to feed throught the fins on the radiator/AC condenser. Do you think that its safe to try to push a metal rod through first to separate the fins. Any other mounting ideas? Thanks

Should be fine to push something through the fins, as long as you don't hit one of the ribs.

I made a little mounting bracket out of some spare pieces of bracket metal I had sitting around. Just stuff I had accumulated over the years. Similar to that metal plumbers tape (the strip with holes every 1/2" or so), only thicker.

But I had a little more room to work because the a/c condensor is gone and most of the styrofoam behind the front bumper is gone too.

I had no trouble getting mine through; you might want to
try and sharpen up the points and make sure the thing
is relatively straight. You do have to find a point that is
between the tubes but it will go eventually. Just wiggle
it easy until it gives and goes through.
