Default what do i need to replace?!?

hey yall, well i did a big rookie mistake when it came time to install my torque convertor! i didnt realize that i needed to seat the torque convertor down three seperate times, so when i bolted it onto my transmission i heard some grinding and then i knew i was f#ucked lol. i know that i need to replace the pump gear, but is there anything else i should replace, and do yall know where i can get a pump gear from?? i havent had anyluck finding them. would the local tranny shop have one or could i get one from a dealership? i have limited funds so i would like to do this myslef, but i dont really know what i have to replace, so any and all help is greatly appreciated. thanks alot

daniel

Maybe the TC seal if it looks damaged. Make sure there's no metal shavings in the trans.

i did the same mistake, i didnt get the converter on all the way and lunched the pump, i drove it for a week or so then one day it gave the ghost. everything went together fine, or so i thought...

with the cost of the pump and labor i was quoted, it ended up being cheaper to get a new tranny.

no the seal looks fine, and i havent even cranked the car. i just remember hearing that grinding noise. but when i was meesing with it today, i didnt see anything that looked messed up? where should i look and what will be a sign if it is bad!

i saw a 13 vane pump for sale today for $40. and i know a guy that would put it in, do you think i should try to drive the car first and if it craps out then get it built, or just go ahead now?

thanks so much for the help, please let me know anything else you can think of

I had something similar happen and it was the pump. Take the car apart and look at what you have. Do not drive it before you make things worse.
