TCI SSF3500 here, wouldn't get anything any smaller, even if you didn't get a cam at all. I'm thinking of getting a TCI 4400 sometime in the future, when I get a bigger cam. Here are some words of wisdom, your first converter seems to NEVER be big enough, your first cam NEVER seems to be big enough. Once you've had a taste, you'll want bigger, trust me! Good luck!

Vig 3200. Reliable--actually flashes to about 3800. I get consistent 1.67 sixties w/3.23's. I have complete stock motor w/edit tuning. This is a great converter for a lightly-modded LS-1 F car. WJ

I decided to ignore all the "don't go too small" advice and purchased the TCI 3000 - not in the car yet. There've been a lot of good reports on it from knowledgeable people for whom good street manners are important. Some one on this board gave some good advice, saying, "decide what you want to build, a good street car or a good race car." He said experience taught him that trying to do both in the same car won't work. My choice of converter and someday cam will be orriented toward having a great street car that will be into the 12's on the track. Your goals sound similar.

i could not be more happy with my tci3000 conveter.
i dropped about 6 tenths of e.t with it.
the car feels like it has a stock conveter.
my 60 foot times are in the low 1.80s. if i could hook the car better, it would be in the 1.70s.
heres what one guy said about my conveter after driving my car,

He also shaved a good 5 tenths off his previous best ET and would of been even more if he didn't screw up the launch on that last run

You'll see that there are more guys that support the "don't go too small" idea than there are guys that would recommend a small converter. No offense to the people that are running small stalls and or recommending them, but take it from the guys that know, and go with at least a 3500. If you go smaller, say a SF3000, and you ever drive a car with the SSF3500, you'll regret the decision to go small. Trust me!!!!! Just trying to help, that's my.02
