table for mph shifting
table for mph shifting hey everyone. Could someone post a link to where a table is that says at what mph and what rpm you should be at in an A4? For ex: Say at 3k rpm in 1st gear, you are doing 35mph. I need this for adjusting my shift points, and am searching but don't know what to search for. Thank you.

The formula is simple...
MPH =
(RPM x Loaded Radius of the real wheel)
(Tranny Gear Ratio x Final Gear Ratio x 168.068)
If you have stock wheels and tires, the Loaded Radius is approximately 13.125"...otherwise just measure from the ground to the center of the wheel.
A4 Trans Ratios are
1st..3.06
2nd..1.62
3rd..1.0
4th.. .8
Fianl Gear ratios are 2.73s or the optional 3.23s (RPO GU5 I think...??).

What are you (guys) looking to change? Is it part throttle shift points or WOT shift points? I (with a suggestion from Jimmyblue) came up with some nice part throttle shift points for my SS, it shift very nice and downshifts much better. Granted, your shift points may vary depending on the level of mods you may have.
