stalled a4 vs. M6 who would win?

From a roll.....it depends. The A4 can stand a chance if and only if it has a high enough stall. It takes a very high stalland a good jump for an A4 to take the M6 from a roll, if for no other reason than the fact that you can hold it in the proper gear prior to taking off with the stick but the auto has to shift down.
But from a standing start, a "real" race, the stalled A4 should win hands down.

from the line a stalled car will rape a m6
while a 6 speed has an advantage off a roll, aslong as you are in the correct gear and rpm a a4 will keep up with a m6

This is a very very old topic of discussion, though. It should not need new posts.

It may not be equal because of the years but I raced a '99SS at the track.
M6, 3.42's, some SLP options (looked into buying the car when it was for sale).
I ran him on two different nights, first he had old nitto's, last he had new nitto's. I have the stock original BFG's, stock stall, 3.23's.
I beat him every time.
When I was stock I ran 13.6 at 102 against his 13.8 at 104. Two times.
Now with the mods in my signature I run 13.2 at 106.

All other things being equal, from a roll the M6 wins. It has superior gear ratios and transfers more of the engine hp to the wheels. That pretty much sums it up.

But what if the M6 has a badass rear end, badass clutch, and traction is not an issue? Does A4 still win??? Hmmm
I have a 4L60 and am soon doing a 408ci. I know the trans wont last, even though it is built, but I dont know what to do...
keep the a4 and see how long it lasts, sell it and get a th400, sell it and get an M6

when my car still had the a4 transmission in it i was stock internals with full bolt ons and had a PT4400 with 3.42 gears and i drug cammed M6 cars from a 20-50 roll all day long. just to dang many variables when you're talking about a race...driving is the main variable to consider.
