Default 4L60E build up.. whats needed?

Just wondering what is needed to build a 4L60E to handle about 600RWHP? Kevlar cluthes? Corvette Servo? Name any part you can think of.. I was thinking of just buying all the parts and having a tranny guy i know do it for cheap.. instead of buying a brand new Stage 1,2,3 transmission.. I plan on doing a turbo set up in the future so i need a 4L60E trans build.. Thanks guys!

The torque drive package, five pinion planetaries. Kevlar nothing. Alto red friction material, or raybestos. Do everything you can for the 3-4 clutch, use the wide frictions that use only 6 discs but have more surface area than a 9 disc pack.
Then you can break the output shaft.

Alright cool.. I'll write down some of these things to take to my tranny guy.. but is there any packages out there i can buy for a 4L60E that would have all necessary parts for a 600HP 4L60E? If so does anyone have a link or part number? seems like there should be something out there.. Or if there isn't a kit does anyone have a list of every part needed? Thanks for the reply jxaxsxoxn i appreciate it!

Go to http://www.700r4l60e.com/store/custo...&cat=22&page=1 then change the 3-4 clutch pack to the "Limited Street" (about $25.00 more), & add the HD input drum sleeve & pston. This should handle about 575 - 600 RWHP for awhile. Let me know, if I can be of help?

stay away from the alto reds.

get the borg warners for all the drums except for the 3-4. MAKE sure you get the Raybestos Z-pack for the 3-4

alright awesome guys! thats helped me out a lot.. I'll have to keep checking around! I'll definately stick with borg warners, and i'll get the Raybestos "Z pak" i'll see what i can do.. i know i can get it all done cheaper than buying a brand new build tranny for $2000.. so i'd rather do all the research myself and get it build.. Thanks a lot guys! very much appreciated!

how much is a rossler transmission? because i know i can buy a rebuild kit for about $600 and i know a tranny guuy that can do it for around $400-$500.. Which would save me about $900 for what i'm doing.. Unless you know of a tranny cheaper than $2000 that can handle 600RWHP.. let me know! Thanks

From my experience, it doesnt depend so much on all the beefy **** you put inside, but more on how it is built. I had a local guy that is respectable do mine with the #24 rebuild package from 4l60-e.com. It has held over 600RWTQ for over 6 mo's with no probs.

This same guy has built 2 trannies I have personally seen run 10's, 1 of them a full street car making 650+RWTQ and his never had any probs after a year and a half, then he sold the car.

What were in these 10 sec trannies?
1. Kevlar Band
2. Shift Kit
3. Servo

Thats it

i was wondering that.. how long will a build 4L60E Last? If it doesn't last more than like 30-40,000 then its probably not even worth doing it..

Depends how hard on it you are, depends on a bunch of factors actually. But 30-40 out of a performance 4l60 is askin a lot. if you street drive it and have under 450hp then yeah its possible but if you go to the track a lot or have 500+hp then i dont see it happening without SOMETHING going wrong. might be something minor, but still something. I am sure it is possible, but just not likely...
