A decent torque converter can easily kill the A4 transmission without a modified cooling system, but the A4 is usually easier on the rest of the drivetrain. The M6 transmission is pretty strong, but it is harder on the drivetrain and increases in power generally require an upgraded clutch.

depends on where you live! if you live in a busy city i would say the auto would be easier on the car and you. in a less crowded city, you can have more fun with the manual

i could personally see myself beating on a stick car (drivetrain wise) more than an auto.

i think they both suck. everything will break over time if you are making enough torque. auto will smoke clutches/converters, manual will smoke gears/synchros/clutch. take your pick

on Stock cars the auto will withstand more abuse than the manual. Launch a stock m6 car on et streets and your clutch/10bolt will be lucky to last the night, an auto will withstand run after run. I'm not stock but I have well over 100 runs and still have my stock transmission with a vig converter
