Can you be more specific.
What shift kit?
What exactly was tuned after the sk install?
What did the band clearance end up looking like?
What feed hole sizes did they use for each hole?
Does the truck complete it's shifts quickly or does it just bang them out? Or is it binding up during shifts?

ok had nelson tuneing done after transgo shift kit and servos done, line pressure returned to stock, all the holes were drilled to the largest bit size they sent with the kit, because i put in a 2500 converter and the kit said to drill the holes with this bit if i was going with a high stall converter. its not that high but better than stock. the truck shift out fine quick and percise to the settings of the tune. i ran the truck before and after the transgo shift kit and that was the times 14.03 at 98.31 and after 14.33 at 96.?? it just felt sluggish off the line. i figured is was due to no high converter, but after new converter was installed i thought i would get it back but only what you see in my sig and that was alot to do with the weather 47degrees outside, thanks for the help if you can, sorry so long lol

I've found that the shift kit makes the shifts happen faster.
In other words when the VCM commands a shift it allows extra time for the mechanical part of the trans to move and complete the shift. Adding a shift kit shortens the shift duration ....it'll send out the shift command at the same time but since the trans can shift faster it completes the shift sooner.
This actually lowers the shift point.
You probably need to raise the shift points higher. I had to on my trans.

well i guess i needed to tell you the shift points before the shift kit were at 6200 1-2 and 6000 2-3 then after shift kit 6400 and 6200. i thought that was the problem so i moved them back to 6200 and 6000. so now what lol, could it be that drilling out the holes all of them to much?? let me show you another example 60' before kit 2.15 after kit 2.28 so it lost its take off power. i guess lol

Default What converter?

What converter did you put in? It sounds like the new tc is tighter the the last. In my truck I picked up .2 and 1mph after the trans go and billet servos.

this is before the converter. i still have not gained what i should have before the stalled converter, yes the converter is getting me 5/10 in the 1/4 but i have yet to get the 3/10's back.

my ? is are you supposed to drill all the holes to the larger drill bit that comes with the kit or should i have just done a few??

The hole's could very well have been opened up to much, giving higher pressures causing the converter to lock up quicker or at less of a stall. Just a guess.

I asked a question here because I thought the hole sizes they tell you to drill are too small.
ProBuilt responded and said they can be drilled out much bigger than what the instuctions call for.
I knew my transmissions shift feel before the kit, third and fourth were weak so i drilled them out bigger, I did a few other things too.
I even have a stock converter and I wouldn't say my vb plate holes are too big.
PS I first drilled them to their instructions and hardly noticed a difference, then I took it back apart to drill bigger.

Hole sizes in the valve body plate have nothing to do with the launch of the vehicle. In 1st gear the forward & overrun clutches are on. The kit does not have you change the feed hole sizes to the forward or overrun clutches. If you made a torque converter change, this is where you will see changes in ET & MPH. Depending if the torque management is affected, this can have a negative effect on ET.
