Default TH400 Cheetah Shifter pic you guys have been wanting!

Here ya go. The wire hanging off the side is for the trans brake, and the lighted switchs are for my TNT nitrous system!

Thanks Crazy!

It works really well if you cut the hole first and then mount the shifter to fit inside. You can rig up something to mount it where ever you want but to get it centered in the console I just cut the console, and then drilled the shifter in.

Yeah, definitely really cool!! Now soon as I get some power going through my car, that's the setup I've been looking at for my TH350 I have laying around!

you know i like the cheetah, but wouldn't take more time to get used to going through the "gates" than a normal ratchet shifter?

always wondered why so many people love the cheetah

People love it because the Cheetah is nearly fool-proof. Since my own race car has been under construction, I've driven several race cars with that shifter and LOVED it. I had a Pro-stick in my own race car and in the heat of racing, it wasn't too hard to go from second to neutral if you let go of the lever too soon. When my car goes back together, it WILL have a Cheetah SCS. It's not hard at all to get used to and it is well worth the admittedly high price tag, if you ask me.

Kristi thats exactly why I went with it. All of the race car guys told me to get it LOL. A bunch of them had told me that they wasted money on something else and ended up getting a cheetah because of consistancy.

Thanks for the compliments guys and GIRL <img src="images/icons/grin.gif" border="0"> It did turn out better then I thought.

Man, that thing is even uglier in a picture... <img src="images/icons/wink.gif" border="0"> <img src="images/icons/grin.gif" border="0"> <img src="images/icons/grin.gif" border="0"> j/k

That is a sweet setup. Andy took the time to do it right the first time! <img src="images/icons/grin.gif" border="0">

Nice install. Here's some pics of the alternative. I just got done putting this in my car. Havent installed the consoles yet but it will look TOTALLY stock after complete. No need to cut the console at all. It's a ratchet shifter. I dont see how you could miss a gear with this shifter. IMO it would perform just as well than the cheetah and you don have to worry about moving the handle side to side....just pull it back to go up a gear (reverse pattern) and push it up to go down a gear.

very nice install....thing is kind of a PITA to install in the console cause of the extreme front and back motion of the shifter. We had to cut up my Camaro on pretty good to make it fit right and for the shifter to see full motion

AzzKicker,
I am now running the Cheetah with my new setup. Did you have the pictures somewhere of your install? I was searching and come across this thread and wondering what your setup looked like.

Thanks,
Tim

No inconvenience, just don't think Andy will be reponding

AZZKICKER was Andy Wheeler from EFA. ~3 years ago he bought Lotus and has since faded into the wood work.
