Smile custom th400 cross member-pics

I built this today for my th400 conversion.Tucks away nice and is built strong and almost 4lbs lighter than a stocker. All mild steel.
It's painted black now. In the pics it is still in raw form.
Gotta love welding
Steve

Thanks strokedls1.
I know there are not to many guys that fabricate on the site. But maybe these pics will help out somebody thinking about building a cross member. It's a fairly simple project.

Oh and BTW, what tubing did you use? Looks like DOM but what size and wall thickness, I can infer the flat stock is 1/4 but I was curious with the other.

The tubing is just CREW. 1.3 OD and .133" wall thickness I believe. The plate is just 3/16" hot roll. Cheap material but plenty strong for any trans cross member.
