bringing this back lol. I've reading this and looking around and asking. looking for a stall for daily driven impala. There are stalls from 3200 to 3600. Looking at yank 3600ss or 3200ss. getting tranny from performabuilt but don't know if i want their converter. any pointers?

OLD THREAD!! Wow... 2005
I am interested in this same question myself. I want to go with a performabuilt stage 2 trans. For simplicities sake I was going to go with their converter (something between 3000-4000) as well but I havent heard much about them from members on here. Anyone have their trans/converter combo? Likes/dislikes?

My car has been a T56 since birth, but due to my new build, I figured an auto would be better for boost.
I seem to notice that most N/A and N20 guys use higher stalls. My new set up with the th400 will have a 31-3200 stall from either PTC or a great local company. Spending 95% of my LS1tech time in the Forced Induction section, with boost, a much lower stall speed is recommended to keep from blowing through the stall
the 6 speed is definitely fun and you will most surely enjoy bangin' the gears, just get a good clutch, otherwise you'll hate the 6 speed side. Most use the Spec 3+

Just ordered a Vig 4000 with trans cooler. I'll let you all know how i like it. If i do then im building my car, if i dont then im selling it and going with a 6-speed!
But i have heard that ill love it and from the responces in here i should defintly enjoy it!..
I think youll enjoy what ever you get. Just dont go small first. Go big
