B&M Precision Shift Control Gate 93-02 Camaro
Has anyone heard anything about these? It is the best substitute I've seen so for for the lack of ratchet shifter. I saw it in the Speed Shop section of Car Craft April issue. I'll see if I can't scan the mag and post it....... It has a pic of the hard ware and a breif description.

I have the prototype model in our SS. It works pretty good, you just tap it forward to up shift. It easily installs into the OEM shifter and provides positive stops for forward pattern shifting. You should be able to get it from any LS1Tech vendor, the part number is 81070.

Actually it is a gate plate that is made by B&M (part number 81070), and should be available through LS1Tech sponsors. By prototype, I meant is was a pre-production piece I have in my car ... not that the maker of the gate plate is called "Prototype".
Downshifts are done by depressing the detent button, except for the 2 -> 1 shift.

Is there anywhere I can get information about this. Also I would like to see some pictures. It sounds pretty interesting. Summit has it for $50.00 (only place I've found it) but there is not description or pictures. Any information would be great.

It installs on to the OEM shifter assmbly and provides positive stops for upshifting. Just tap the shifter up and it will lock on to the next upshift detent. Downshifting is done by depressing the detent button.

Good post Flame thrower. The time will eventually come when a ratchet shifter will be available, until then I guess this will have to do. I found it only available at summit as well, but they have no stock. They are trying to secure buyers through a back order, because this kit wont be stocked to retailers until around 4/10-15 of this/ next month.
