400 turbo, what's involved in the install.
well, i'm thinking about doing this, but with the TH350. as for any adaptors or anything, i'm not really sure. but some stuff i do know would be a a trans crossmember, possibly new driveshaft and different yoke to go into the trans, and to get the computer reprogrammed to remove all the stuff that was needed for the 4L60E. you'll also need a shifter and a new shifter cable. you'll also need a new convertor to go along with that trans obviously. some people have stated that you can bolt up that trans right to the block, but won't uses all the bolt holes. the top one is not used, as well as the two bottom ones going into the oil pan. person i talked to said that those holes didn't matter and that there wouldnt be any oil leaks from not using the bottom holes. don't know about that one though. anybody else, cause i am interested in this swap.

HAHA I think I am going to set up a page with all of the periphorals and prices that guys need!
Its not to bad
I will list the extra stuff you will need:
New Drive shaft, with TH400 yoke
New Torque arm (unless you have someone that can weld you a new mount for your stock peice)
New Converter
Trans Tricker
Speed sensor and relucter wheel
Dip stick (Lockar Flexible unit)
New shifter (B&M Rachet or SCS Cheetah look nice)
Trans Brake (if you want)
I think I am forgetting something but I cant remember now.
The install it self is pretty straight forward. If you have a 12 bolt its takes allitle patience getting the torque arm to fit over the big rear.
Then just the asthetics of setting up the shifter.
and getting it the way you like.
I have a pic on my site of the finished shifter.
Good luck!

Tim (TimZ28), Richie (Richie Carbone), and myself will be completing my TH400/ 9" swap tomorrow. I was planning on doing a full write up on the whole ordeal. I'll prolly have it up monday sometime. Here's some misc pics of the process

Just wondering if you ever did this write-up?
My 4l60E is toast and the TH400 is going in very soon. The more info I find on this conversion, the sooner I get to drive my car again.

He is very knowledgeable with LT1 Edit as well and just made a prototype "low impedance" kit for the OBD computer to allow the use of low impedance injectors
