Default Guys that run a stall bigger than 4400, come inside!

Right now, I have a TCI ssf 4000 in my 4l60e. it has a 2.7str, and hits hard, giving me a 1.6 60ft on stock internals and stock suspension. but i want to go bigger, and i am gonna send it in to get it re-stalled. I am wondering what stall speed i should get. The rear end gear is 2.73 right now, but I am going with a 4.10 soon. I am staying N/A, and I am on a 275/50/15 MT drag radial. thanks in advance.

Have ya asked TCI about this, or whatever company that is restalling the converter?

4.10's in an A4? Hope its not your DD, just going from 2.73's to 3.73's is gonna be a HUGE jump. Plus you run the risk of blowing up the rear end of the car with drags and a big stall.

no, it is not a daily driver. i talked to Kevin Winstead @ TCI, and i am sending the stall next week to get it restalled to 4600.

IMHO I'd definitely wait until you put the new gear in before the restall. That will let you know what RPM you cross the finish line at and how the future stall will affect it.

i already have a stall, a tci ssf 4000, but want to go bigger. looks like i am going with a 3.73 rear end, should have it soon enough. i am gonna send the stall in anyway, and get it restalled to the 4600.

Unless you have a cam that doesn't make power untill 5000 rpm, I would not go above 4400 stall. 4400 Has been the magic number for Ls1 cars shifting at 6800 and below. The swap from 2.73s to 373s should drop you into the 1.5X 60' assuming you have traction. If you really plan to swap gears, I'd do that first. You're cutting a good 60' with that converter and I would not mess with the converter until you do other mods.
