Anyone using a 4400 stall ?

Default Anyone using a 4400 stall ?

Was told I would need to go up to a 4400 or bigger to get my car to idle with teh 226/234-112 cam I was thinkning of using in my C5.Was told this cam will get me to the 400RWHP mark I'm going for.TIA

A 6000 stall won't help your car to idle any better without tuning. You need to raise the idle speed of your pcm to about 1000 rpms with that big of a cam. For what it's worth, getting to 400 rwhp has more to do with intake and cylider heads than it does cam selection. You can easily bust 400 rwhp with a 216/220 114LSA cam if your heads and intake flow a bunch of air. I make 408 with a 221/224 cam. My idle speed is 750 and I only have a 3500 stall converter.

Yes, a 4400 stall converter will work very well with a cam that big, but if you're running stock cubic inches, you might go quicker with a little smaller cam.
