700rwhp with a 4l60e possible
Just wanna brag on Dave at Rock On Transmissions in Krum Tx. I have beat the **** out of the 4l60e he built me and it keeps on ticking. Evertime I think I have torn it up, it turns out to be a pcm programming issue. Went to the track again last night after finally getting it to shift 2-3 perfectly (it NEVER made that shift before because of some CRAZY GM programming issues I found in Hptuners) and it performed flawlessly. I ran a 10.17 with a 1.59 60' and then backed it up with a 10.16 1.57 60' @ 136mph. My car dynod 703/775...3800lbs......and I have driven it 10000 miles this year. I am very glad I didnt go t-400 and give up O/D and the nice 1st gear. Feel free to PM me for any info on Dave @ Rock On....he isnt on here much as I have got him in the dungeon working on a RELIABLE transbrake. When looking for a 4l60e I'd throw his name in there with Rossler and FLP.

i dunno.....I dont ask....just "make it work and last". I think he is working on something custom (drum oriented) for the transbrake if I recall correctly.

When I thought my tranny was messed up, Dave always said send it back and let me fix it (for free). Of course when I would find another of GMs quirky programming issues to be the problem and the tranny was fine, I didnt get to test him You may have a different agreement with him. I pimp Dave because he is an honest guy and does good work. He told me up front this tranny isnt going to last forever. At my power level, we have decided that one season of racing or 100 passes on slicks is a good goal to shoot for before it needs freshening. I think that is very reasonable for MY setup including all the street driving I do. You may reach a different agreement/goal with him. There are some GOOD tranny builders out there and I have seen the light...a lot of tranny issues are PCM related and not transmission hardware related like I have jumped to the conclusion of in the past.

Nope...firm shift but definitely nothing anyone (including women) comment on.
If you look in the speedo section of hptuners/edit etc...you will see that transrevs/mile setting. I have got mine working right by adjusting that. I tried EVERYTHING before i started messing with that setting and then BOOM...shifts 2-3 everytime. I also raised the "max slip" setting..its under tranny dtc section...I think stock is 800rpms. The tranny and the instrument cluster are not working off the same speedo tables at WOT which is why you need to get the transrevs/mile setting right.....if that makes ANY sense
