As you hear go higher then your initial choice. I have a 3400 2.0str converter and will upgrade it to a Yank PT4000 2.2str. With mine it takes around 2k rpms to keep up with traffic from a stop.

It takes about a day if that to get used to it. As someone else said it makes the car easier to drive. Also get a transmission cooler as a higher stalled converter will make the tranny temp higher.

tranny cooler very important. A tranny temp gauge would be nice also.

Scotty, with what you want then a 3200 might be a good choice to get used to a converter, then you can always have it restalled later on if you go with bigger gears. I found an M6 rear end and just swapped it directly in, and made out ALOT cheaper than a gear swap, and the 3.42s are perfect for street/strip. 2200 RPMs @ 70, 2500 RPMs @ 80 just cruising, I wouldn't want to go much over that. 3200 stall + 3.42s felt almost stock to me. I think that 3200 would be a good starting converter for you. Get those 2.73s out though, my 2.73 to 3.42 swap made more of a difference than my 3200 stall did on my 2.73s. I just hate those big gears, makes the car feel like a slug.
