I know there was another thread started about a month ago in regards to thier converters, I read through all the replies and it seemed like there were only a few running one. I'm considering buying one so I thought I would post and see if there are more people out there now using one. I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on them, espcially those who have one, but even those who don't. My concerns are with the fact they seem relatively new and cost. If the quality is as good as a PI or Yank how can they be offered for such a low price?
thanks
thanks
I can only tell you this so far. I sent him a pm and within an hour or so he sent me back a suggestion. It wasn't what I was thinking so I got him to call me and explain why he felt this was the right one for my car. He did an excellent job of explaing it to me. When i asked about a shift kit he said I could get it cheaper elsewhere b/c he didn't have the volume. As far as his price being so low from what I gather it is a small company with little overhead. As far as the convertor itself I hope to be able to let you know around the 15th of July. I hope this helps. BTW I got the 3400/2.1

The other converter's I'm considering are a Yank SS3600 and PI 3200. I've heard Yank's are nice but thier customer service leaves much to be desired. I've talked to alot of guys with a PI and have yet to hear one complaint.
I have mine now, Andrew (BlueSS) and I threw it in this morning, install was smooth and counting breakfast was about 4 hrs on the carport floor. I will give a quick thumbs up to the Harbor Freight Trans Jack, worked beautiful, the table top doesnt pivot as much as I would like, but really thats nit picking for $50.
Initial impression of the Fuddle TC is great. Smaller and lighter than the Yank 3000. Accel has been a joy, looser than the previous TC as well, should definately yield better results tonight. I will post up the outcome, and will have to compensate for lack of track prep, but will post actual results, as well as a "if prepped should be" type result.
Fuddle Street Converter 3800 2.4STR, thought it was a different earlier.

Well, installed this morning, and ran it tonight. Got a new PB also. 60' was only marginally better, but the converter felt much better, holding the power carrying out the launch, netting me a reduction in ET of -.20. Tonights best: MT DR's 18psi, f=6/r=3, airbag @ 18psi (not sure whats good to run in it). Track prep and weather was no different than anyother night here in Hawaii. Compared to last best 1/4 tank or less gas, this time was just over half tank...ugh.

I never adjusted the suspension from the street settings, and was having to figure out where the TC liked the launch RPMs, but I am very satisfied so far.
Good luck and enjoy to those going Fuddle.

My Yank was a 3000 stall, and on bolt ons it was great, but once went to HC it started becoming rather limited, add to that nitrous and things get no better! So, figure I'd talk with John at Fuddle and exchanged ideas for my cars goal. Came up with 3800stall, 2.4 STR, so we'll see once I hit the spray, and then the combo....
I've heard nothing but great things about them since they showed up. I considered getting one, but decided to go with TCI instead. Absolutely nothing against Fuddle at all, but I just went with a good reputation for my first converter. However, if Fuddle keeps up this great work and their converters hold up, I may be buying from them in the future!
Well, my first converter was a Yank 3000, 2.0str and it almost burned up my trans 3 times. Yes, I was running a B&M Super Cooler but the converter just slipped too much, felt mushy, RPM's were up but the car was just not pulling.
Next converter is currently a Midwest 2400 with a 2.5str. I told them I wanted it tight for daily driving. Well, it works good on the street but has no top end power. (efficiency).
I am now talking with Fuddle, Maybe I can get a converter that works good down low and has efficiency up top. Maybe??

Fitted my 3000/2.0 Fuddle on Friday and took it for a spin today. This is what I got from a previous best 12.66@111.2MPH 1.97 60':
12.38@110.8MPH 1.74 60'
Never expected such a good 60' on street rubber (Bridgestone RE55s, which are really an AutoX tyre). Ran with 50L fuel in the tank too
This car is not opened. Bolt-ons only and runs full weight minus the jack and spare. It weighs 1645kg or 3800lbs.
Taking her out next Friday night with some better rubber to see what I can do stalling her up. Was just flashing her as the RE55s were losing it off the line.

What tires are you going to be running , drag radials, ET streets, etc..?
Looking forward to seeing those new times.
I'll probably be ordering my Fuddle in the next week or two.

I plan to run MT ET Street Radials next time out. No real MPH loss as I haven't increased horsepower - if anything, perhaps a little less. The car running well beforehand so the stally has only really helped with the ET through the 60' and shift extension. Im seeing 4800RPM shift extension 1-2 and 4700 2-3.
IMO, this converter performs as good as the best 9.5" units out there. Performance is subjective though, as each car has its own needs.

looks like a VERY nice piece. we will see how it works at the track next weekend. probably off of a transbrake.
