Any one ever tried a Ford or Dodge VSS? I have mated a '97 3.8 series II V6 to a '86 700r4 from an S10 4x4. I have the same VSS issue that is pertinent to the LS1/700r4 swap. I was wondering if anyone has tried or considered a Ford or Dodge VSS. Both Ford and Dodge made VSS's that are inline with mechanical speedometer cables in the 80's. I don't know about the pulses or signal compatibility. However, I believe the Dodge unit would thread right in between the trans and gm cable. Any thoughts?
