Default Next step up from SY4000?

I bought the SY4000 because 99% of my racing is on the street, and I have 3.73 gears...

but I already feel like I want more...

just curious as to what would be considered a next step up...
for a car with 245 DR, so too much STR is not a good thing
looking for mostly "from a jump" gains

thanks for any advice

A Yank Pro Thruster 4400 is the next step up. Don't let the higher STR fool you into thinking it's not easy to launch on the street. It is quite manageable to launch and it will KILL the SY4000 from a roll. I swapped from the SY4000 to a PT4400 a few years ago and never regretted it. The Pro Thruster is THAT good.

Next step up is a YTP 4400. At that stall you're loose enough to step into throttle on the street; it requires just a little more care than what you've got.

The gains will be mostly from a roll. If you don't mind the looseness, Mike could swap the YTP 4400's stator and drop the STR down to around 2.2 This would increase the midrange gain, shift extension, and efficency.

For a bolt-on car or mild cam car, I wouldn't go any higher stall.

I am planning on putting a cam in within the next month or two, and obviously getting new springs, rods, and retainers in....Is that a must for thet high if a stall ( the valvetrain )?

also, what RPMs would I be at during up-shifts at WOT?

once again, thanks for all the help!

5200 - 5400 is a pretty good estimate.

Sorry if that was confusing..I just meant is it a good idea to put have the upgraded valvetrain for a converter that revs that high?

Hope that makes more sense...

Tonight cruising around in my Camaro on 15 inch drag radials (good tires, right pressure) from a 35 mph punch my car got sideways. Pretty cool--try the tp4400 =)

Super: The valvetrain needs to be upgraded because of the stress from the higher lift and faster ramps of the cam combined with the fact that you will spin the motor a few hundred rpm higher because of the increased top end power. The converter has no impact on that decision.
