Default 4l80E build?

I am looking on building a 4l80E in my 99 a4 camaro. what years will bolt to the block. I am guessing 97+, and there any better years for the transmission as far as strength? I was thinking about using a manual valve body. just curious before i start looking for a good core. thanks for your time.

Any year will bolt to your engine. '98-'99 and up were better years. Don't get anything earlier than '94.
Expect to pay $500 plus for a rebuildable core.

Will your 4L60E (I assume) and 4L80E trans mounts be the same?

Is there a write up or an faq on putting the 4l80e in a 4gen camaro. Linkage, flex plate, speedo, tranny crossmember, driveshaft, stall, starter. (Or a member who has done it and wouldn't mind me picking his or her brain.) just trying to see as much of the big picture before i start droping money on the project. thanks for your time.

You might start another post about a 4L80E SWAP.
No one seems to offer advice on rebuilding them plus it seems you are asking more about the swap than the build.
