Default Transmission Performance button

I have a '95 Formula A4 with 3.23's. I got that performance shift button that I never use and I was wondering what that button actually does and does it work? thanks!

Dude, I tried to tell you that if you use it you will know, but apparently you want somebody to tell you rather than find out for yourself. Basically in performance mode, it raises upshift points higher in the rpm band, enables faster shift times and harder shifts, and commands downshifts at lesser throttle and higher speeds. The button causes the PCM to select an entirely different shift table. My 94 Formula had it and the difference was pronounced.

I removed mine, and used it for a line lock button instead. Reprogrammed the pcm to use the "performance" shift table all the time.

hey does this button have any effects when U launch off the line? Cause it seems to work better without it on off the line. I dunno its weird it seems that without it on I can rev my engine higher before the tires spin to get a better launch, but with it on it seems I cant rev as much and the tires spin sooner.

it also raises the line pressure with the pressure control soleniod.....on thatsame solenoid you can turn the torx bolt on it that is behind the plug 1/4 turn to the right (no more than that) and it will make it even harsher
