I have had absolutely NO trouble with my Yank tranny. I would choose it again in a heart beat.
This is in a HEAVILY abused 10 second daily driver. I worry about a lot of things on my car. (stock rear end for example) but the tranny has been SOLID.
I HIGHLY recommend Yanks trannies.

I have a Yank 4L70 myself and have not had any issues at all with it. It has been working perfect. Though there are not many 4L70 guys out there.
No problems with my Yank tranny. Shifts twice as fast as stock. Over 500 rwhp on the spray (.062 jet) and I spray right through the shifts. Helps having stock MAF ends too (full line pressure at WOT).

You're going to get varying answers, but I'll take the FLP level IV in a heartbeat. I've tried the other two already. PMAC seems to have a nice unit, but it won't take as much power as the FLP unit will, or so it seems. Chuck does a LOT of things to the 4L60E to withstand more power. Give him a call to get the specifics. (630)820-9294

There is a new trans out now. Only one car I know of had it so far, but that car has been totaled recently. I will also be buying this new trans next month. Contact Speed Inc for further details. The list of parts this trans is built with is very impressive. I think that this unit could become a contender for the strongest 4L60E available in the near future, once it’s been proven in a few cars.
I will be giving the board a full report once I have it installed (as soon as the snow/salt clears around here).

I wouldn’t call it “better” yet. It hasn’t been proven yet. We shall see as time tells though.

I have talked to a few guys on this matter. I have a TH350 built by Yank's tranny guy. I have not had any problems from mine and I have abused it hard. With talking to some guys it seems like most of the guys that have TH350 tranny problems didn't order their tranny with a Transbrake. When I spoke to Mike at Yank he told me that the trannys with T-brakes have the HD components in them even tho you didn't buy the HD built. I think that might have something to do with it.

My TH350 had a HOLE in the front of the housing that was found when we tried to put oil in it. We had to JB Weld my transmission to get it to stop leaking. <img src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> I won't go into the other things that took 10 extra days to get it driveable. When you pay that kind of money you should get the HD parts no matter what. It's not like a rebuild kit for a TH350 is mega bucks.

So I guess the results are in.
1 guy had an odd number of problems with a number of Yank trannys.
6 people have not had any problems with their Yank trannys.
It looks like Yank trannys rock.
Cool

I can't say whether or not they rock as I don't have one but, I ordered one in October and cancelled the order this week because I still don't have it. Seems like a long time to build a tranny to me.
On the upside, Tom and Carol at TByrne provided great customer support. I couldn't ask for any better.

I don't think Cool28 went through Yank trannies, but a bunch of POS 700R4 trannies made by somebody else. I kept telling him they were junk, but he wouldn't listen. Not Yank.
I've sprayed over 500 rwhp many many times on two different Yank 4L60Es in 2 different F-Bodies and never had one slip on me.

Ahh ok.
What do most of the Impala SS guys run for 4L60Es? I know a good many of them want to keep OD, they all have heavy cars, and many make a lot of torque.
