I have a pro-built.net one I am very pleased with.
flp2win.com has a great reputation
There is a startup company Carolina Performance Transmissions or something like that I am watching a fellow b-body nut I would like to see make it.
I know of some shops you absolutely do not want to deal with but will hold off on that until one gets mentioned.
There are some other good shops but not a lot you absolutely did the right thing comming to the forum for recommendations.

Don't know how it's gonna hold up yet but I got a 700r4 from Mad Dog transmissions in Florida. Was a pretty good deal, but like I said, don't know about the long haul. Hope it's not one of the shops 96capricemgr was talking about. :S

Talk to Frank. Most guys over on another board use either pro built or this guy. both do very well. I used CPT.

If you're making enough power to break 4l60e, and you're using your car for performance, you might as well man up and get a 350 trans, or something made for racing and power. Everybody around here just using top end packages on ls1's, and 125-150 shots, and are blowing out 2 and 3 built 4l60e's before they wise up. Its your money though.

On the TH350 consider not just the OD lose but the lockup loss(there are lockup ones but not performance oriented) and the lesser first gear. Sure a threespeed non-lockup is great at the track but you aint going to want to drive the car on a long weekend trip or something. I think most of us here have cars to enjoy not to limit them to strip and city use.
I have something between 25-30K on the ProBuilt and no issues sofar, actually with a recent fluid change it is feeling better than ever. I am not making a huge amount of power or anything but the car hooks well and just last month I used it to tow a small fishing boat over 500miles in a weekend, also consider average raceweight of my car is 4350+ with me in it.

I just ordered my trans from Dave at Rock-On. Sounds like a great guy, and there a bunch of members on here who have had great success with his trans. Search for some of candlebandits posts. He's got 30,000 miles on his before it blew running well over 700rwhp and 700rwftlbs. He also had many, many track passes.
Just talk to Dave and you'll see why I went with him.

I just installed a RPM Level 4 (Rodney's) 4l60e...Its rated at 550-600 whp. He also sells a level 5 That Cartech ran mid 9's @140's with in a turbo vette. Rodney is a super nice guy and is very helpful. I got the tranny in a week and a half too...! Shifts great and feels strong...can't beat it for the $$$.
