Is a 3400/2.1 stall too much for a stock 98 Z28 to handle?
Just wondering what everyone thinks about putting in a 3400/2.1 stall converter into my stock 98 Z28? I have 79,000 miles on it and it runs and shifts great. What exactly can a 4L60E handle when its stock with 79k? I mean is this much stall going to break parts? I will also be installing a tranny cooler at the same time. Thanks.

no i think that sounds about right, i am getting a ss3600 with a 2.2 str, but if i get slicks or a drag radial with a 12 bolt, it is only a matter of time before the rear end goes out. Usually the trans are pretty strong but the rears end up blowing which then in turn takes out thr trans.

I have a 3800 with a 2.7str, and mine's pretty much stock, people don't even know I have a converter until I tell them (if they even know what one is).
Your tranny should be fine, just make sure you don't forget to install that cooler.
