Installing converter without removing exhaust
I need to install my new converter but have mmy exhaust we;ded at the Y pipe. Is it possible to install this without cutting the y-pipe

why cut it just take it out?? i had to take the exhaust out from the headers back meaning y pipe and exhaust came out if u dont u will never have any room to get the tranny out

As long as you can get the car high enough, you can usually get the trans out without having to remove the exhaust.
Removing the exhaust normally just makes it easier to get to the Bell-housing bolts and the E clips on the cooler lines.
The trick is to make sure you have about 2 feet of extensions so you can hit the bell-housing bolts on the top while being at the tail end of the transmission.

Some people aren't careful when dropping a tranny. They just put the jack under it and drop it without looking at all sides and you can catch the transmission on an o2 sensor or something else.
Remember a "wobble" socket is also a great thing for helping with those top bell housing bolts, o ryou can use an impact wrench swivel joint (that has only one swivel, instead of 3.)

pulled the trans in my car with the stock exast still installed, dipstick bolt and top center bolt of bell housing we a pain in the *** to get back in, i am glad that i am doen with it.
