<strong>thinking about a yank 3200 with a 2.25str however with all the horror stories I've heard I'm wondering if its the right thing to do. like do you really have to drive around in D instead of OD to avoid the 2-3 soleniod problem.....just wondering what peoples exepeirences have been

I hope some people answer. I drove an Yank ST3500 the other day, and it threw a code almost immediately. I've heard that people don't have trouble with the Vig 3200. I'd like to hear more about that one.

Talk to the member "TR" on this board. He can answer the specifics of your question. If you do a search you will find a link in his sig that my be helpful.
BTW, the Y3200 has 1.86 STR. Are you considering the Stealth thruster 3200 or a SuperThruster 3200?
I have had some problems with codes (too much tranny slippage...forgot the code). It would ONLY happen when I was driving the car up a steep & long hill (e.g., going over mountains in Arkansas on the way to my track). Install of TransGo completely fixed this problem. Over the 18 mos have driven this car with 3:23's and 3:73's, and as everyone notes, the 3:73 setup is a little more driveable. And yes, the Y3200 is 1.86 STR.
I've just ordered a new Pro Thruster from Mike. Not unhappy with the Y3200, just looking to get a little more out of the car at the track.
Stealth 2600 - little performance boost, no SES lights.
ST 3500 - real loose with 3.23's, great performance boost, lots of SES lights.
ST3000 - feels just as loose as ST3500, less performance increase, more SES lights.
Stealth 3200 - great for daily driver, good performance boost, NO SES LIGHTS. Drives like stock converter during daily driving.

<strong>Actually the Stealth 3200 is the converter I am refering to that I'm considering for purchase</strong><hr></blockquote>
The stealth is a larger diameter converter than the ST3500 which reduces the chanes of problems. I'm not aware of anybody reporting that a stealth 3200 throws codes.
Performance is just amazing ! Lockup is Excellent and I never have any bad vibrations or noises. I'm very happy with the converter other than the SES light issue if I keep it in OD during stop and go driving.
I've heard it is mainly 2001's that have the problem and it is usually only with the ST3500 model.

I did blow my tranny a couple of days ago but I don't think the Vig had anything to do with it. <img src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" border="0" alt="[whiner]" />
