black02, anyone 11's SI INSIDE PLEASE!! what is the best possible shift point on the stock 00 cam to get the apsolute best times from your car. my dyno graph shows peak HP is between 5600-5900 rpm, them slowly falls from 6200 on. the car feels like it still pulls up till 6400 rpm. would it be best to shift at 6400 or 6200rpm for the best possible time on the track.

My bolt on only car ran 11.04 @ 121 mph. My converter is WAY too big for the stock cam. i don't have enuff power to pull away from the converter and thats the only thing holding me back from being the fastest in the country. it mph's like a mother ****** though. i shifted at 5,600, 6,000, 6,200 and 6,400 and got the exact same times.

I know... only seen the dyno once for tune.
the graph shows power drop after 6200 but I think the car is pulling hard up to 6400.
besides, my logs show my shift ext. is about 200 rpm more as well. and seeing that the car rides the shift extension most of the time, wouldnt that make it faster?

I'd use 6200 - 6400 for best performance. I used 6200 but that was due to wanting to be safe on the stock valvetrain. A4s have big drops between gears which argues for high shift points, but the converter absorbs some of that drop and provides torque multiplication at certain rpms after the upshift. Since each brand/model of TC is different, no one rule applies. You gotta test at the track.
I shifted mine at 6200. I didn't want to trust the stock springs any higher.
You might want to look into a cutout. And maybe short belt too. Every little bit helps when you're getting that close.

i wouldn't trust the stock valvetrain past 6,200, as the rev limiter has been placed for a reason. a properly set up bolt-on n/a a4 car can run 11s without much danger to the engine or drivetrain. for us a4 guys, it's all in the 60.

Prolly be easier to see ur dyno graph, but also u want to think about bending push rods, 6400 is pushing it up there pretty good.
