3500rpm 1.7str
i would like the sy3500, but 900 dollars is alot.
if i have fuddle build me a 3500rpm 1.7str converter, should it perform close to the sy3500? low str for a softer hit to the tires and more efficient for a higher trap speed?

It depends if they build it exactly like Yank does (impeller, turbine and stator design for example). By just spec'ing out the conevter to 3500 stall and 1.7 STR doesn't mean it will act like an SY3500. It may act worse. You would have to let Fuddle know what your intentions are and if they can build it to achieve similar results.

I thought you quit making that converter - why is it not listed on your website?

Thanks for thinking of Yank

Yes,we still make it!
you have to call on it
and we have many converters for the LS-1 style cars and trucks that are not listed it fact we have over 167 styles of converters and only list the hot sellers at the time, as not to confuse buyers.

Id get the vig2800 stall. It actually stalls around 3200rpms and is just as efficient as the SY3500 (according to the dyno at the yank website). Plus its smaller so its lighter. You can find a used vig2800 for less $400.

i got the 3,800 stall 1.7 fuddle. Feals pretty good compaired to my midwest 3k 2.0 and it will smoke the tires just as easy (nitto 555r's). Down low its a bit mushy with 3.23 gears but of course if you nail it---good bye.. Shift extention for me stays above 5k rpm vs the midwest with a shift extenton around 4,000-4,300.
